From Helene F. Campbell
One of my favourite things to do is to repurpose on Antique Jewellery. The locket I found in a regional flea market or Brocante in rural France way before I opened up my Gallery & Studio.
Originally it was a vanity locket, with a small mirror inside, but the mirror gild was crazed and un-useable.
The back of the locket in engraved making it easy to date its age.
"Clotilde
23 Octobre
1903"
No that's not a spelling mistake for October, its the French spelling for that month.
Its a marvellous piece of Art Nouveau Jewellery, and i think adding the little rosecut sapphire enhances the piece. I've used a similar style chain that would have been used back then, but a modern clasp.
Comprising:
27mm diameter Silver Antique Locket
4mm Blue Rosecut Madagascar Sapphire
60cm Sterling Silver Chain
