925 Sterling Silver Sea Urchin Ring.
The shell was found on the beach by a friend and had the perfect curve to become a beautiful decorative top of a ring.
A special casting process is used where the shell is broken down over many hours in a rubber mould with the detailed impression left. Molten wax is then pushed into the rubber mould with the impression of the shell and can then be cast into metal. You can even see the details of the shell underneath.
I have then handmade a suitably tapered band to complement the shell with a comfort fit.
The shell has a lovely lacelike quality to it.
The width at the top of the ring is 19.95mm down to at the base of the ring 6.20mm.
The finger size is 'S'.
