Galahs are among Australia’s most familiar parrots and can be found across the country. They are typically seen in flocks, though they often pair up within the group. Galahs are commonly observed waddling around on the ground along roadsides or in paddocks as they dig up the roots of small plants. They are also notorious for their raucous behaviour in the trees, noisily squawking and hanging upside down from Eucalypt branches while causing a general commotion. Watching the crazy antics of a flock of Galahs always feels like a hallmark Australian experience.
